(COVID-19 testing Antigen and Antibody testing)
Antigen tests look for pieces of proteins that make up the SARS-CoV-2 virus to determine if the person has an active infection.
A nasal or throat swab is taken by one of our medical professionals and tested on-site.
Rapid COVID-19 testing (Antigen) available to all patients including:
- All patients with COVID-19 symptoms
- All healthcare workers, first responders, and essential workers
- Patients with exposures to COVID-19 (close contact with someone who has COVID-19)*
- Exposed patients that live with a family member that is deemed at risk*
- Students that require a test to return back to school
- Patients requiring a test for travel purposes
- Any other individual need
*If you are not experiencing symptoms, but have had direct exposure, please wait at least 3 days (72 hours) from the time of exposure to be tested. This will provide you with the most accurate results.
Antibody Test – Serology looks for antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 in the blood to determine if there was a past infection.
A blood sample is taken (finger prick, similar to a blood sugar test) and tested on-site.
Antibodies are formed by the body to fight off infections. Immunoglobulin M (IgM) is the first antibody that is formed against a germ, so it appears on tests first, usually within 1-2 weeks. The body then forms immunoglobulin G (IgG), which appears on tests about 2 weeks after the illness starts. IgM usually disappears from the blood within a few months, but IgG can last for years.
MOST INSURANCE PROVIDERS COVER THE COST OF COVID-19 TESTING
If you do not have insurance, the cost is $100 for each test. We accept cash, most major credit cards, and Care Credit.

Why is COVID-19 testing important?
As a healthcare provider, Xcell Medical Group has a unique opportunity to help during this pandemic: appropriately testing for the virus that causes COVID-19 will make a significant impact on our patients and our communities in slowing the spread.
Testing is the only way to confirm if you have or have had COVID-19. Knowing you’re infected is important to protect your family and the people you encounter.
Testing helps reduce the spread of the virus. When someone tests positive for COVID-19, they can be isolated at home or, if needed, in a hospital.
Testing is also crucial to learn more about how the virus spreads and how prevalent it remains in a given community.
By being proactive and getting tested, you can help slow the spread of infection and prevent future outbreaks.
